The position:
Reporting to the Chief Accountant, the ideal candidate will be expected to:
Apply accounting principles and standard practices to the processing of financial information into the general ledger in accordance with KB[S]
Handle tax issues, ensuring alignment with the Greek Tax Code requirements
Participate in the preparation of the company's annual balance sheet, financial statements and other reports
Work in compliance with the shareholders' policies
 
The candidate:
The ideal candidate will be expected to possess the following:
A University degree in Accounting/Finance
A Professional Auditing or Accounting Qualification (ACCA, ACA etc.) or a post-graduate degree in Accounting/Finance will be considered a strong asset
2-3 years of work experience in a shipping company or in one of the Big Four Audit Firms, specialized in the Shipping Sector
Very good knowledge of General Accounting Principles ([EGLS]), Code of Books and Records ([KBS]) and legislation regarding off shore havens (law 89/67 etc.)
Hands-on experience in US GAAP/IFRS is a prerequisite
Excellent command of the English language
Familiarity with Accounting Software Packages
Ability to prioritize workload without management direction
