The position:
Reporting to the company's CFO, the ideal candidate will be expected to:
Assume responsibility for the full range of accounting functions of the company
Maintain the company's accounting records
Prepare the company's financial statements and monitor the company's cash flow
Supervise and safeguard the company's compliance with its financial obligations and demands
Hold full responsibility over the efficient tax handling
Ensure the timely and accurate execution of the company payroll, keeping up to date with the respective legal framework and labour law
The candidate:
The ideal candidate will be expected to possess the following:
A University degree in Accounting/Finance or related disciplines
A professional Auditing or Accounting Qualification (ACCA, ACA etc.) or a post-graduate degree in Accounting/Finance will be considered a strong asset
8-10 years of relevant work experience, while at least 3 years serving as a Chief Accountant for a listed shipping company. Prior work experience in one of the Big Four Audit Firms, specialized in the shipping sector, will be an asset
Excellent knowledge of General Accounting Principles ([EGLS]), Code of Books and Records ([KBS]) and legislation regarding off shore havens (law 89/67 etc.)
Excellent PC skills and familiarity with Accounting Software Packages
A' class signature right
Deep knowledge and hands-on experience in IFRS or/and US GAAP
Excellent command of the English language
Advanced communication and people management skills
Excellent numerical skills and attention to detail
