We currently have a vacancy for a DATABASE ADMINISTRATORS to offer his/her services as IT expert to be based in Helsinki, Finland, s/he will form part of our internal IT team. Work will be carried out either in the company's premises or on site at customer premises. In the context of the first assignment, the successful candidates will be integrated in an Internal team of the company, based in Helsinki, that will closely cooperate with a major International Institution's team of other database, web application server, storage and Unix administrators.
Job Description:
The selected consultants will install, configure and administer small, medium and large scale databases (mainly Oracle, as well as MS SQL or PostgreSQL)
Manage database backups and restore using Oracle RMAN
Review database design and capacity planning, providing advice and best practices in database solutions
Ensure that technical documentation is kept synchronised and up to date
Your skills:
University degree or equivalent, in a relevant subject
Minimum 5 years of experience in the IT field
Extensive hands-on experience in administering Oracle Database Enterprise Edition version 10g and 11g
Experience in using centralised management systems, (preferably Oracle Enterprise Management) as well as backup and restore systems (preferably Oracle RMAN and EMC Networker)
Good knowledge of Solaris 10 and UNIX shell scripts
Ability to work independently with solid communication to liaise within multicultural teams
Fluency in both written and oral English
