More specifically, the main duties of the role will be as follows:
Responsible for approving/acceptance of new requests for insurance cover from both new and existing customers within an own authority
Recommending of new requests for insurance to a superior outside the own authority
Includes applying underwriting principles and procedures where the company is considering underwriting new risk or modifying existing contracts/buyers.
Uses financial analysis techniques in assessing risk exposure of potential new cover and in assessing existing risks.
Shares own expertise with direct colleagues
Completes own role independently or with minimal supervision/guidance
Oversees the day-to-day activities of work group/team? accountable for work group/team results
May co-ordinate/supervise activities of individuals/the team
Applies underwriting principles and procedures where the company is considering underwriting new risk or modifying existing contracts/buyers
Manages standard and/or non standard risk portfolio · 
Applies analyst knowledge and principles to identify and manages portfolio exposure
Responsible for monitoring the development of the portfolio and modification of buyer underwriting risk management approach in the assessment of risks
Responsible for compliance with internal procedures including recording of decisions for use by both internal and external customers
Co-operate with the sales department regarding risk procedures for new or existing clients
The ideal candidate should be able to work proactively, analyse various information and to work meticulously and with great concentration. He/she should have excellent communication skills and very good time management skills. He/she should also be flexible, in order to perform efficiently his/her tasks.
On top of that, the ideal candidate should have the following profile:
5-6 years of experience in a commercial company within the credit control or risk department.
Excellent communication skills
University Degree in Economics, an MA in Economics would be considered as an asset
Excellent Analytical skills
Attention to detail
Excellent written and oral use of English
Very good PC skills
Excellent teamwork
Ability to work under pressure
